The 'Connected 3' Art Exhibition featuring artwork by residents at Nulsen Disability Services takes place tonight at All Saints' College WA from 6pm! Join us in celebration of this fantastic event and don't forget to place a bid on your favourite artwork! All funds raised from the sale of artwork will go towards supporting residents at Nulsen 🎨

Not long now! Join us for the official opening of ‘Connected 3’ on Friday! The art exhibition is hosted by our partners at All Saints' College WA and features more than 140 artworks by well-established and emerging artists including residents from Nulsen Disability Services! The event takes place Friday 15 June from 6 - 8pm in the Centre for Performing Arts at All Saints College, Ewing Ave, Bull Creek. Nulsen Youth Patrons from Hale School, Methodist Ladies' College and All Saints' College WA have completed three amazing Public Speaking Workshops thanks to our partnership with Margot Halbert from Positive Persuasion. Each year students in the Nulsen Youth Patron Program gain valuable public speaking skills from an expert in the field! It wouldn’t be possible without the generous support of Kailis Bros Leederville who provide the venue and refreshments. We are extremely grateful to both Margo and Kailis Bros who continue to support the Nulsen Youth Patron Program year after year and help us shape the leaders of tomorrow and create lifelong advocates for people with disabilities!

Well done to residents and staff who participated in the HBF Run for a Reason on Sunday! Everyone had a great day despite the weather, and met many a colourful character on the way to the finish line. Did you know our very own Greg Barr currently has an artwork, 'Chet's One' on display in the City of Rockingham – Local Government Art Awards exhibition!? The exhibition runs until this Saturday 19th May, open daily from 10am to 3pm at the Rockingham Arts Centre and the Gary Holland Community Centre. Well done Greg!

It’s been a busy end to the term for the Nulsen Youth Patrons as they hosted residents at some amazing school events! Over 20 residents and support staff shared a delicious lunch at Hale School School before enjoying the musical talents of students playing a variety of classic cartoon theme tunes. It was all about the band at the All Saints' College WA Jazz & Paella Picnic where 20 residents and staff relished in relaxed atmosphere as they chatted with the Youth Patrons, danced and laughed as the sun set. The term ended on a high at the Methodist Ladies' College Singing, Drama and Mime Day, where residents got to see the students true talents during their performances. Term one certainly marked the beginning of some wonderful new friendships!

Congratulations to the Wembley Amateur Football Club on their first win in the integrated competition since the team started in 2014! For many people with disability, the NDIS National Disability Insurance Scheme has changed their lives – they finally have the support they need to get out and do the things they want to do. It’s been everything they hoped and fought for. But the NDIS is not working well for everyone. So, Every Australian Counts is launching the ‘Fund it and Fix It’ campaign to get the NDIS back on track, and it starts with a survey asking what you think should be fixed first. We’ve got some ideas, but we want to hear yours. Please take the time to fill out the short 5 minute survey so we at Nulsen can continue to support people with complex disabilities and nurture every person’s potential for a good life 🤲
