Thank you to All Saints' College WA who welcomed Nulsen residents at their Pasar Malam Twilight Markets on Friday night. Nulsen Youth Patrons were eager to host residents at their first catch up for the year, immersed in the sights, sounds, smells and tastes from every corner of the globe! What a night they had!

The 2020 Nulsen Youth Patrons from All Saints' College WA, Hale School and Methodist Ladies' College have officially been inducted into the Nulsen family, kicking off the year with a leadership workshop run by Gavin Bain from Meerkats. With empathy at its core, the three-part Creative Leadership Series explores themes such as vulnerability and emotional intelligence, to help students realise their leadership potential and develop their own approach to creating positive impact in the community. Thanks to Gavin and Michael McHugh from the Future Institute of Australia for helping us shape tomorrow’s leaders!

Thanks to the terrific collective support from Kaboodle Kitchens, Taubmans Australia and Bunnings Warehouse Australia the team at Outcare and Wirrpanda Foundation commenced renovation on the kitchen, bathroom and laundry at an Outcare property this week.

Kaboodle donated a ton of painting gear which complemented Taubman’s donation of paint, shirts and a handy discount on future purchases. And Bunnings Armadale came to the party with a variety of PPE gear and their commitment to everyday low prices!

Mandy sets sail! Mandy, resident at Nulsen recently completed the “Ultimate Challenge”; 5 days and 4 nights working the ropes and the sails on the tall ship Leeuwin. Captained by Angela Lewis it was a wonderful empowerment opportunity for Mandy who made new friends, learnt new skills and would love the opportunity to do it all over again! Many thanks to Leeuwin Ocean Adventure Foundation staff and crew and to Nulsen for sponsoring this great enterprise.

Massive congratulations to Hine Dando, employee of Outcare who was thrilled to be selected by RugbyWA as a forward in the #SuperW Women's squad for 2020!

Hine is a passionate Rugby enthusiast and has dreamed of playing at a national level for many years. This is the first time she’ll be lacing up the boots for Western Australia. Best wishes to you and the squad for the 2020 season Hine!

Through the Patrons 'Make-A-Wish' program, the lads were granted their wish to purchase a season pass each to the Kwinana Motorplex! They also received complimentary shirts and hats which they proudly wore to their first event!

The 2020 Nulsen Youth Patrons have completed their barista training and are now serving good coffee at Hale School's Chime Café! Thanks to the Western Australian Barista Academy who’ve been training Nulsen Youth Patrons at Hale School since 2011. Great work guys. We’re looking forward to a good cuppa on our next visit!

Long-time friends of Nulsen, Tonya and Mary McCusker spent time over the summer break getting to know residents and staff over some favourite activities. Alumni members Georgie and Maddie joined in on the bowling action and lunch followed by painting took place at a Nulsen home. The McCusker Charitable Foundation has been supporting the Nulsen Youth Patron Program since 2014.

What better way to 'dig in' to the New Year than a sod-turning ceremony for a unique new home we're building for people with complex needs in the City of Wanneroo!

Nulsen Group Chairperson Evelyn Hogg said that the specially designed house is the first of its kind for Nulsen and will be home to five people who have complex disabilities and require a high level of care.

“This is a significant milestone for Nulsen Group with the home being the first Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) property the organisation has been involved in building.”

The gents put Travis Colyer and Alex Pearce through their paces, showing the players they meant business with their centimetre perfect kicks, quick handballs and strong tackles!
