Nulsen Disability Services offers flexible support options for people of all ages that live in their own homes. Together we will develop a plan that outlines how we will support you to achieve your goals.
Support in Your Home
Assisting you in the comfort of your home
Our passionate, dedicated and highly skilled team of disability support workers will encourage you, listen to you, and respond to your needs and interests.
For example, you may need help with things around the home such as getting ready in the morning or preparing the evening meal. Or you may need help to get out and about so you can develop skills, be active, creative or social.
Our trained disability support workers can assist you with practical tasks such as:
- Personal and self-care.
- Preparing meals.
- Domestic assistance.
- Taking medication.
- Attending appointments.
- Meeting with friends and family.
- Shopping, or attending libraries or other venues.
- Accessing training and educational courses.
- Building your confidence in using public transport.
- Going to social and recreational groups.
- Participating in sport or leisure activities.
- Communication, mobility, transport and orientation and other tasks.
Respite care makes it possible for a person with a complex disability and their family to take a break, whether that be a few hours out, or a weekend away.
Nulsen’s respite care is tailored to meet the needs of each person and their family. We can be very flexible in accommodating your way of doing things. We can come to you to provide respite care in your own home. Or we can support the person with a complex disability to attend a group or take part in social and recreational activities. Either way, both the person with a disability, and the primary carer, can enjoy a well-earned break.
We understand life has its challenges, twists and turns. It’s important to have trusted support so everyone has some time out. Respite care is an important part of living a healthy and balanced life.
