Brenda has been working in the human services sector for the past 16 years. This includes 13 years working with the Department of Communities in the role of Local Coordinator and, more recently, Regional Intensive Support Coordinator (RISC). As Local Coordinator, she worked alongside families and individuals with complex support needs around advocacy, person centred planning and accessing supports and services as they transitioned through the various stages of life. Brenda’s role in RISC saw her working with Communities staff in a capacity-building manner, as well as working with families with children in Voluntary Out of Home Care to ensure a coordinated response from services as they navigated complex situations.
Brenda has also worked with the Department of Environment and Conservation where she supported community members who were navigating crisis as the result of devastating natural events such as the Black Saturday fires in Victoria and numerous major fire events in Western Australia.
Brenda brings with her strong values and a passion for ensuring people can lead the life they want to lead. She loves to work collaboratively and is always available for a quick chat if you are looking to share ideas or seek a different perspective.
